Funny Foam Faces

My daughter loves sticking this foam face on wet tiles in the bathroom. But she plays with it in her room as well. We have one pink oval for a face and

eyes in different shapes
plus different haircuts... how about moustaches?
He or may be she is good-looking!?

V is for violets

When learning letter V, we talked about violets...

we learned about the color of violets...
and that violets have five petals...

celebrating Earth Day...

I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.
(this wonderful poem was shared by Kristen on http://preschool-daze.com/)

Trees are the best monuments that a man can erect...
We decided to plant trees on that very important day...
The weather was beautiful...
children were so enthusiastic...
parents engaged...
everybody was HAPPY!

A man does not plant a tree for himself, he plants it for posterity.

We wrote our names on the board to remember ...
Thank you EARTH!

Language Center

This is one part of our classroom where we write and read...
We have an alphabet line laminated for everyone. We use them for the most of language activities. They are located on writing tables for everyday use. Every student has one in his/her writing books (it is used as a bookmark either).

Here is a place where the students love to write cards for their friends and families.
We keep fancy pens, an alphabet, names of the teachers, some examples of writing
names of classmates to help them write...

Here is our Word Wall with my students' favorite words...

Here is a Word bank with extra flashcards for words

Measurement: BIG

brainstorming on things that are BIG...

We learned some facts...

The Art Center is a favorite place in our classroom.

Simple Yogurt Cups

I love these colorful yogurt cups. We sort them, we collect little things in them...
Today we had our yogurt cups again, the students decided to build the l-o-ongest pipe...

But five minutes later... after looking at that pipe, one of the students said that that pipe looked like the letter 'U". Don't you think?
The kids started to make more letters...
and more...

I love these cups... still collecting them...

Love flexibility...

When filling a tray with water for morning center today, I recognized I did not have enough boats for children to play with. I remembered corks that I usually use for printing activities... and noticed a paper clip on my desk! Look what I turned them into... a sailing boat.
My kids had lots of fun this morning!
